Scrum is Everywhere

Why should you do Scrum Certification?

Scrum is one of the widely adopted forms of Project Management in world’s leading organizations. Big brands like Google, Facebook, Apple, spotify and many more have started implementing scrum frameworks in their organizations. Popularity of Scrum among project teams is growing day by day and there is no looking back.

Ken Schwaber co-developed the Scrum framework with Jeff Sutherland in the early 1990s to help organizations struggling with complex development projects. One of the signatories to the Agile Manifesto in 2001, he subsequently founded the Agile Alliance and Scrum Alliance. The term scrum  is borrowed from rugby, where a scrum is a formation of players. The term scrum was chosen by the founders because it emphasizes teamwork.

Scrum is a lightweight framework that helps people, teams and organizations generate value through adaptive solutions for complex problems. People often use scrum and agile interchangeably. But scrum is one of the agile frameworks which is commonly used.  Scrum framework has three roles – product owner, scrum master and a development team. Product owner is the business representative of the team. He has to make sure everyone in the team understands  what is the business goal, the scope of the project and the domain. He is the link between business stakeholders and the project team. Scrum Master  is accountable for guiding, coaching, teaching and assisting a Scrum Team and its environments in a proper understanding and use of Scrum. The development team consists of all team members working towards achieving the goal. Scrum teams are cross functional, that means everyone in the team will use all their skills to achieve the final goal of the project.

Scrum is a framework that helps small teams break down a task into manageable goals. Scrum masters are project managers who ensure the framework is followed. They typically work in software development, but may also find employment at finance, construction and marketing companies. Some level of scrum master certification is usually required.

Because of the ease of adaptability and getting ROI , scrum is implemented in almost every Industry, thus creating a huge need for Scrum Masters. According to Ziprecruiter The average annual pay for a Certified Scrum Master Job in the US is $125131 a year.
